Leroy Pollux is a Dallas photographer who specializes in
photographic pictures of people. A world-weary
dabbler in lost causes, there is really very little
to be known about him. Although successful in his
business for the last few years has had no
telephone, web site nor even business cards. In the year 2001 Pollux gained a patent for this software used for color correction of digital photographs that work equally well on the PC or Mac platform. This software is so effective that the patent was bought by Lenae-Watts, one of the world's largest manufacturers of photographic films and papers and digital imaging equipment. The purchase price was for over 20 million dollars. It does not appear that any more software is forthcoming from Pollux who seems to be very interested these days in traveling in his luxury private airplane which is shown here at Dallas Love Field. Numerous customizations were carried out on this aircraft which is capable of traveling at 400 knots and carries
enough fuel to travel 1800 miles in one hop. It is large enough to accommodate Leroy, Logan, Novie, and Julie Sorens and up to four more adults. It is not unusual for this them to file a flight plan to Mexico and return from Mexico the same afternoon. The craft is fitted with electronics capable of using the Internet in flight, satellite telecommunications, a large screen television. Often the craft is seen by ground crew with Logan and Julie up front while Pollux is playing Mario Brothers on the TV. Once interviewed by the now defunct Dallas Time Banner about what he liked about the plane, Pollux said, "It's very heavy so it's smoother than most in flight. But what I really like is to be able to land on very short runways, reverse the thrust on the props and back into my tie-down area. In certain countries the people at the local service area totally marvel over this. Of course, I got a lotta help in the modifications design from my niece, Logan." When asked about the "Outta Sight" moniker, Pollux replied, "You obviously don't know much about James Brown." |
